About ACTS
Anthem Cares Through Service (ACTS) was founded in 2009 to provide short-term support to Anthem neighbors experiencing unexpected financial hardship through our Anthem Gives Program. In 2024, we expanded our impact by launching the Anthem Cares Program in partnership with Foothills Caring Corps, providing services that enhance the quality of life for older adults and individuals with disabling conditions. ACTS is led by a 12-member executive board and powered by more than 200 dedicated volunteers.
When times are tough, we help. Since 2015, ACTS has assisted 537 families (1,857 individuals) and distributed more than $700,000 in direct financial assistance through the Anthem Gives Program.
In just its first year, the Anthem Cares Program made a meaningful difference for older neighbors—completing 920 services for 45 seniors, contributing 980 volunteer hours, and fulfilling 18 mobility requests through our Mobility Loan Closet, helping seniors remain safe, independent, and connected in their homes.

About Us
What We Do
When you donate to ACTS, you are making a personal gift for one of your neighbors who perhaps is:
- A single mom who needed back surgery and couldn’t work for six weeks. As a result, she is behind on rent and needs $1,800 to stay in her home.
- A recent widower who works as a hairstylist. He needed surgery and was out of work for months. He needs $2,100 to make his mortgage payment.
- A couple with a two-week old baby. The father has a rare kidney disease and is waiting for the transplant.
The mother will return to work as a photographer within the month. They need $3,200 to cover mortgage and utilities.
ACTS Mission Statement
We raise funds so we can help people with short-term needs, including:
- college scholarships
- toys for kids
- groceries
- medical bills
- rent and mortgage
- home utilities
- car repairs
our mission
When you donate to ACTS...
When you donate to ACTS, you are making a personal gift for one of your neighbors who perhaps is:
- A husband and father with leukemia. He received a bone marrow transplant but his chemo caused a condition requiring that his hips need replacement. The family’s savings are depleted. They need help with this month’s rent.
ACTS brings life-changing relief to people so that they won’t be evicted, their utilities won’t be disconnected, or their car won’t be repossessed.
